Unknown lady who came to Nelum Pokuna to see Prince Charles ....
in police custody

"I am Minister Keheliya's wife", she says

An unknown lady who came in the morning to the Nelum Pokuna theatre impeccably dressed when the preliminary session  of the CHOGM was to begin; armed with a specially prepared identity card was taken into custody at the gate by the security personnel
.

As she was behaving in a suspicious manner, she was questioned at which moment she had said that she was from Kandy. She also said that she was the wife of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and that she had come there on that day to meet Prince Charles.

On checking her, it was found that she was in possession of an identity card issued Sinhala where her name was mentioned as H.M.I.R. Herath while an identity issued in English said that her name was Ramya Rambukwella.

The suspect even had 3 false identity cards showing an affiliation to government institutions and at the moment she was taken into custody, she was dressed in an osariya, police said. She had introduced herself as a co-ordinating secretary of the Ministry of News and Information.

However, as the organisers of the event had no such name on their list of invitees, the security personnel took steps o arrest her. She was taken to the Kurunduwatta police station and was produced in courts the following morning where she was displaying a jabbering attitude. Under these circumstances she ordered by courts that a medical report on her mental condition be submitted.

Accordingly, a medical report from Consultant of Mental Hospital, Angoda was produced to courts yesterday (Nov 20). This lady, Herath Mudiyanselage Ihalagedera Ramyalatha, a resident of Udugunnewa, Kandy appeared in courts; where she once again started uttering nonsense.

What she had said was that she was the wife of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and that she had given a sum of 80 million to the Minister. As such, she said that she as the queen of he country went to the place where diplomats are welcome in order to see Prince Charles and that she was taken into custody there. According to her manner of speech and things she uttered, it was observed that her mental condition was disarrayed. Under these conditions, Colombo Chief Magistrate, Mr. Gihan Pilapitiya ordered Kurunduwatta police yesterday to take necessary action through a district court to dispatch her to Angoda Hospital.
